The CAA’s flying programme to repatriate Thomas Cook’s customers affected by the company’s liquidation has now ended. If you are still abroad and are ATOL protected, our team will be in touch with you directly to arrange alternative flights home. If you have any concerns, please contact our call centre.

Returning on/after 7 October

If your holiday is ATOL protected with Thomas Cook, the CAA will be making individual arrangements for you to return to the UK with existing flights on other airlines. Details of this will be sent directly to these customers.

If you have an ATOL certificate but it refers to a travel company unrelated to Thomas Cook as the protecting ATOL holder, please contact them directly about your arrangements to return to the UK on or after 7 October 2019.They will be responsible for arranging a new flight or providing a refund for your booking. Please do not submit a claim to the Civil Aviation Authority.

If you are not ATOL protected and you are due to travel to the UK on or after 7 October 2019, you will need to make your own arrangements to return to the UK. For advice on whether you can make a claim for a refund, you should speak to your card issuer, bank, travel insurer or other payment method provider (depending on how you paid for your holiday).

If you are not sure how to identify your travel company or whether you are ATOL protected, please see How do I know if I am ATOL protected.
